As the Denver Broncos prepare to face the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the AFC playoffs, quarterback Bo Nix shared an inspirational video on Instagram, set to Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” emphasizing the lyric, “Dream until your dreams come true.” The video highlighted moments from the Broncos’ season, aligning with Nix’s message about pursuing dreams and striving for more than just reaching the playoffs.
Reflecting on the team’s journey, Nix said, “We got to watch a team video with that same song. It’s about dreaming for these moments and wanting these things. But it’s also about not being complacent with just making the playoffs. We can go further, and we shouldn’t be handcuffed by just making it because we haven’t done it in so long. If we’re going to make it, we might as well go win some games.”
The Broncos’ matchup against the Bills, set for noon CST on Sunday at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, marks Denver’s first postseason appearance since their Super Bowl 50 victory in 2016. The Bills had a strong 13-4 regular-season record, securing a playoff spot early, while the Broncos finished 10-7, clinching the final AFC playoff spot on the last day of the regular season.
Acknowledging the skepticism surrounding Denver’s playoff chances, Nix remarked, “It’s cliche, but most people didn’t expect us to be here. So, we’ll continue not worrying about those things, focus on ourselves, and do what we can do. It’s definitely not going to be easy.”
Nix, a former standout at Pinson Valley High School and Auburn, made the playoffs as a rookie, joining Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders as rookie quarterbacks leading their teams to the postseason. Nix emphasized the significance of these moments, saying, “This is where I want to be. These are the moments that matter. People remember you by these times, so you have to cut it loose, trust your teammates, and play.”
Buffalo’s perfect home record in the regular season contrasts with their playoff loss at home last year to the Kansas City Chiefs. Meanwhile, Denver had a 4-5 road record, but Nix remains optimistic about the team’s chances, highlighting their resilience and close-knit nature.
“We’ve been working hard, and we’ve been competitive in most of our recent away games. I’m excited for one to go our way. We have each other’s back, and someone will make a play to put us in a position to win. We’ve built up for this moment through the highs and lows of the season,” Nix said.
As Denver aims to make a deeper playoff run, Nix and the Broncos are determined to show their growth and seize the opportunity in the postseason.
