New Orleans Saints defensive back J.T. Gray has been named to the AP All-Pro Team (second-team) as a special teams player, marking an impressive achievement in his career. This selection makes it the eighth consecutive season in which the Saints have had at least one player named to the All-Pro team, further solidifying the team’s commitment to excellence on special teams.

Gray, an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State, signed with the Saints in 2018. This marks his third All-Pro selection, with previous honors including a first-team All-Pro selection in 2021 and a second-team selection in 2019. His teammates have consistently recognized his leadership, as he was voted one of the team’s special teams captains for the fourth year in a row.

In the 2024 season, Gray appeared in all 17 games and led the NFL with 26 special teams tackles, setting a new career high. His 16 solo coverage stops also topped the league. A standout moment of his season came in Week 3, when he blocked a punt against the Philadelphia Eagles for the second time in his career, further showcasing his impact on special teams.

Over his career with the Saints, Gray has played in 98 regular-season games, totaling 93 special teams tackles, two blocked punts, and a fumble recovery. On defense, he has recorded 14 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and forced one fumble. Since becoming a regular contributor in 2019, Gray has led the NFL with his 93 special teams stops, underscoring his importance and consistency in the Saints’ special teams unit.
