Breaking News: New Orleans Saints Head Coach Kellen Moore And General Manager Mickey Loomis Officially Announced The Departure Of Three Top Experienced Star Players Due To…

The New Orleans Saints just made it obvious they’re intending to go into another season with Derek Carr on the roster. However, the franchise recognizes what everyone else knows: the Saints still need a franchise quarterback of the future. During the 2025 Scouting Combine, New Orleans made time to visit with the best quarterback prospects in the draft class, demonstrating this truth.

Shedeur Sanders inadvertently disclosed on Wednesday that he had visited with the Saints, and late Thursday night, it was announced that Cam Ward had met with New Orleans. Analysts don’t think Ward and Sanders will go past selection No. 7, at the latest, and both are widely regarded as the top two quarterback prospects in 2017 draft.

I won’t go into detail about every meeting, but this one stands out…

Cam Ward met with the Saints.Everyone is wondering if the Saints, who now have the ninth overall choice, would be ready to move up to choose a first-round quarterback for the first time since the 1971 Archie Manning draft because of their interest in the best quarterback prospects.

Cam Ward and the Saints meet at the Combine.
It’s possible that New Orleans is conducting due diligence during these conversations. On draft night, anything can happen, and there have already been discussions about how one of these quarterbacks can slip. If one of these players were available and the Saints didn’t take the time to get to know them before the draft, it would be the last thing they would want.

However, there have been rumors that the Tennessee Titans, who own the first choice, are open to a deal, and New Orleans is in dire need of a young, skilled quarterback. The Saints may put together a huge package to get from No. 9 to No. 1 if they truly fall in love with a prospect like Ward and feel compelled to go up to grab him.

Teams are only beginning their in-depth assessments and getting to know these prospects at this extremely early stage of the selection process. Although the Saints’ draft strategy is still unknown, it is apparent that they are interested in the best quarterbacks.
