Breaking News: Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Forward Chris Hodges Just Terminated His Contract And Confirm He Wants To Leave…

In two days, Wisconsin basketball acquired former Northern Illinois transfer big Xavier Amos and former Central Arkansas transfer guard Camren Hunter. A key component to the team’s hopes this season, the two are the first members of the program’s transfer class this offseason.

In 2023–24, Amos was a rising star for the Huskies, averaging 13.8 points and 5.8 rebounds on 38% three-point shooting and 57% shooting. He will be immediately added to Greg Gard’s starting lineup because he is regarded as one of the best players on the transfer portal.

Hunter, however, had a leg injury that kept him out of the 2023–24 season. However, in his first two seasons at Central Arkansas, he did start 30 games each. In 2022-2023 he averaged 16.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists on 42% shooting and 31% from three-point range during his sophomore year.

To replace the whole departed production of Tyler Wahl (graduate), A.J. Storr (portal), and Chucky Hepburn (portal), Greg Gard and his team still have work to do. Amos and Hunter are two important components of that strategy, and there will undoubtedly be a few more transfers soon.

Here is the current 2024–25 roster with the signing of Hunter and Amos, as the transfer portal cycle continues as Gard strives to make the team better:

Before the 2022-2023 season, Klesmit was a little-known transfer acquisition, but he has since developed into one of Wisconsin’s main starters. Next season, he will return to play a significant part.

Xavier Amos, a junior transfer forward

In 2024–2025, Amos may be one of the most significant players for the Badgers. Tyler Wahl claimed to have played in over 150 Big Ten games. Although the transfer forward lacks that, he has a high ceiling that can be useful to Wisconsin’s squad in the upcoming campaign.

Camren Hunter, a junior transfer guard

Hunter is the first offseason transfer added by Wisconsin. Despite missing 2023–24 due to an injury, he averaged 16.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 2022–2023 as a sophomore.

After A.J. Storr and Chucky Hepburn leave, the transfer guard will join Wisconsin’s guard rotation to help cover the gaps.
