DONE DEAL: Just In Atlanta Braves Just Announced The Signing Of Another Two Top Experienced Star Players…..

Following the signing of Jurickson Profar, the Braves’ offseason attention has turned to the pitching staff; Mark Bowman of MLB.com recently revealed that Atlanta was considering Ryne Stanek.

However, according to Anthony DiComo, Stanek is returning to the Mets on a one-year contract, so the hard-throwing reliever won’t be visiting Atlanta.

In 2024, Stanek pitched 55.1 innings with a 4.88 ERA and a 4.14 FIP. Although he wasn’t particularly outstanding, he was among the Houston Astros’ top high leverage relievers in 2021–2023, pitching 173.2 innings with a 2.90 ERA.

Given the Braves bullpen’s present situation, it made some sense to take a chance on Stanek’s potential on a one-year contract. Joe Jimenez, who had knee surgery offseason, and A.J. Minter, who also signed with the Mets, must be replaced by Atlanta. That’s a lot of output, and the Braves are also missing Luke Jackson and Jesse Chavez from their bullpen from the previous season. Before the season begins, Alex Anthopoulos should prioritize adding one or two more relievers.
