AJ Storr, a talented and well-traveled guard in college basketball, is headed to Ole Miss for the next chapter of his career. The former Wisconsin Badger and most recently, a Kansas Jayhawk, has officially committed to the Rebels, marking his fourth school in as many seasons.
A Journey Across the College Basketball Landscape
Storr’s basketball journey has been anything but linear. The Rockford, Illinois, native first burst onto the scene as a four-star recruit, kicking off his collegiate career at St. John’s. After a solid freshman season, he transferred to Wisconsin, where he truly broke out as a scoring threat. In 2024, during his stint with the Badgers, Storr averaged an impressive 16.8 points per game, including 11 games with 20+ points. One of his standout performances came in the Big Ten Tournament, where he exploded for 30 points in a game against Northwestern, showcasing his ability to shine under pressure.
However, his production saw a dip after transferring to Kansas, where he struggled to find consistency and minutes in a deep Jayhawks rotation. In the 2024–25 season, Storr averaged just 6.1 points per game, starting only four times. While the numbers may not tell the full story, it’s clear that the adjustment to Bill Self’s system wasn’t seamless for the athletic wing.

Despite the dip in statistical output, scouts and coaches continue to praise Storr’s physical gifts and offensive potential. At 6’6″ with a strong frame, Storr brings a mix of size, strength, and scoring versatility that allows him to attack from all three levels. His ability to drive through contact, finish around the rim, and knock down jumpers when in rhythm makes him a tough cover when confident.
Defensively, he’s shown flashes of capability, though consistency on that end of the floor is likely to be a major point of emphasis as he transitions into Chris Beard’s system at Ole Miss.

Storr’s commitment to Ole Miss places him under the guidance of Chris Beard, a coach known for demanding toughness, especially on the defensive side. While bouncing between four schools in four years isn’t ideal for development or team chemistry, there’s no denying that AJ Storr remains one of the more intriguing talents in college basketball. If he can rediscover the form he showed at Wisconsin and apply it consistently under Beard’s structured system, he could be a breakout name in the SEC next season.
