Breaking News: Pittsburgh Steelers Confirm QB Justin Fields And Head Coach Mike Tomlin No Longer On Speaking Terms At Steelers And Confirm He Wants To Leave Due To…

According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers insider Gerry Dulac, the 2022 NFL draft won’t happen again. The Steelers are not in the same position as when they selected Kenny Pickett with the 20th overall pick since they will already have their starter when they sign Justin Fields or Russell Wilson.

“The Steelers are not on the same quest to draft a quarterback as they were in 2022 when they scoured the country looking for their quarterback of the future,” Dulac wrote on the first of March.

Finding a young quarterback in the third or fourth round to serve as a backup and perhaps turn into a starter in the future is probably their main priority right now. When they are permitted to begin inviting 30 nonlocal prospects to the South Side for predraft interviews on Tuesday, their motivations may become clearer.

At the combine, the Steelers held casual talks with Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Ole Miss’s Jaxson Dart in addition to official interviews with Ohio State’s Will Howard and Texas’ Quinn Ewers.

Kyle McCord of Syracuse (6-foot-3, 218 pounds), Cam Miller of North Dakota State (6-foot-1, 215 pounds), Riley Leonard of Notre Dame (6-foot-4, 216 pounds), Tyler Shough of Louisville (6-foot-5, 219 pounds), and Kurtis Rourke of Indiana (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) are among the other prospects that Dulac claims have attracted the attention of the Steelers brass.

In 2025, one of these rookies may be following Fields or Wilson.
