The city of Indianapolis At the NFL Combine, the Titans are looking at quarterback prospects ranging from Shedeur Sanders of Colorado to Cam Ward of Miami.
The franchise is also keeping an eye on quarterbacks from other teams who are about to become free agents and those who may be traded.
Coach Brian Callahan and General Manager Mike Borgonzi have already stated this summer that they intend to give Will Levis every chance to contend for the starting position in 2025.
In 2024, Mason Rudolph, a veteran, played eight games for the Titans. What about him?
I questioned Borgonzi and Callahan about Rudolph and their interest in re-signing him in any way while they were at the NFL Combine.
“Mason is certainly under consideration,” replied Callahan. Mason was a really good player for us, especially considering how crucial the position of second quarterback was. I was quite happy with Mason’s performance and ability to control a portion of the room.
“I would welcome him back if that was the right fit.”
In 2024, Rudolph played in eight games for the Titans, starting five of them. He finished 146 of 228 passes for 1,530 yards and nine touchdowns, nine interceptions, and an 80.1 rating. With the Titans in 2024, Levis was 190-of-301 for 2,091 yards, 13 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and an 81.4 rating.
“We’re going through the process now with some of our own free agents, and then free agency with other teams,” said Borgonzi. “Mason accomplished a lot of excellent things last year, and he was good in the room when he spoke with Brian.
“We’ve been in touch with those representatives for our current free agents right now.”
When the free agency period begins next month, Rudolph may attract interest from other teams, so the timing might be intriguing. After spending the past five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who selected him in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Rudolph inked a contract with the Titans last offseason.
Only Levis is now under contract with the Titans, but in the upcoming weeks and months, other choices will become available. Trevor Siemian, a quarterback, was a member of Tennessee’s practice squad for the 2024 season.
When Callahan said, “We’ll do our due diligence,” “We’ll be able to examine every quarterback that is available and select the one that best suits our needs. However, Mason is also unquestionably taken into account.
