As they resume their Midwest road trip this evening, Danny Sprinkle and his Washington Huskies will most likely have a difficult time in the Midwest when they play the No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers in Madison, Wisconsin.
In the Big Ten men’s basketball rankings, the Washington Huskies men’s basketball team (13-14 overall, 4-12 Big Ten) is presently in last place. In contrast, the Badgers have managed to place in the top four of the Big Ten basketball rankings with an overall record of 21-6 and an 11-5 record in Big Ten play.
So, yes, Sprinkle and the Huskies are going to be put to the test in a big way. It will be difficult for UW to defeat *checks notes* um, UW.
Wisconsin’s impressive record is undoubtedly proof that they are a far superior team, but it’s also clear that the Badgers are outscoring opponents by 10.8 points per game, while UW’s average scoring margin is presently -1.5 points per game.
That is an issue!
When the Washington Huskies come to Madison to play the Wisconsin Badgers, they encounter several issues.
In addition, Washington is only averaging 72.6 points per game, whereas the Badgers are averaging 81.7 points. Wisconsin is making 36.3 percent of its long-range shots and 46.8 percent of its field goals.
It will undoubtedly be difficult for the Huskies to contain this offense. especially considering that this season, the Huskies are allowing Big Ten teams to score 79 points a game.
Additionally, it will be difficult for UW to outscore *checks notes* UW since the Huskies are only making 44.3 percent of their field goals on average and losing by 9.3 points per game in Big Ten games.
It’s possible that this game may get nasty. We can only hope it won’t! Even though I’m not particularly hopeful, I would be grateful if Sprinkle and the Huskies were to defeat one of the top teams in the Big Ten (and the nation).
