DEAL ACCEPTED: Green Bay Packers Confirm Another 25-Year-Old Officially Agreed To A $900 Million Deal To Sign With Packers.…..

The center Josh Myers hopes to return to the starting lineup in 2025 after overcoming many injuries to start 16 games for the Packers in 2024.

According to Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal, Myers stated after the Packers’ season concluded, “I’d absolutely love to be here.” As a reliable starting center with a high floor, he should have a good market as the team’s sole full-time starter scheduled to reach free agency this offseason. Myers should be able to earn an APY similar to the contracts inked by Aaron Brewer and Andre James last offseason, while not having the Pro Bowl credentials of Erik McCoy and Tyler Biadasz.

According to OverTheCap, the Packers could afford such a $7-8MM annual contract since they have just over $40MM in cap space. But according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, the club already has three potential centers on their roster: Elgton Jenkins, Zach Tom, and Sean Rhyan. Green Bay may decide to let go of Myers as a result, in part to make room for 2024 first-round pick Jordan Morgan in the starting lineup.

Morgan started as a left tackle in his final two collegiate seasons, and he played all of his rookie plays at guard, where Jenkins and Rhyan are also. The Packers are more likely to shift Jenkins or Rhyan to center than Tom if they genuinely want to give Morgan a chance at a starting position in 2025.

Myers, a 2021 second-round pick, would then have to spend the summer searching for a new team. According to Pro Football Focus (subscription needed), he only gave up one sack in 2024 and provides dependable performance at the position while not being an outstanding center. He should be able to get another starting position in 2025, either at Green Bay or somewhere else, with that.
