Auburn Lands Local Running Back Omar Mabson for 2025 Recruiting Class
Auburn football continues to strengthen its 2025 recruiting class with the addition of local running back Omar Mabson. After an active Early Signing Period in December, the Tigers had already secured commitments from 21 high school recruits who enrolled early, with four more signed and 16 players added through the transfer portal.
Mabson, a standout from Auburn High School, made his commitment official on Monday, sharing the news with the help of On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Originally a member of the 2026 class, the 5-foot-9, 200-pound running back has reclassified to 2025 and will sign with Auburn on National Signing Day in February.
Mabson is rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, ranking as the No. 37 player in Alabama and the No. 86 running back nationally. Though he doesn’t yet have a composite ranking, his recruitment drew significant attention from major programs, receiving scholarship offers from 24 schools, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.
