DONE DEAL: Just In Boston, Bruins Confirm Another 25-Year-Old Officially Agreed To A $575 Million Deal To Sign With Bruins…..

By the deadline on March 7, the Chicago Blackhawks may deal more former Boston Bruins forwards than Taylor Hall.

According to Chris Johnston of The Athletic, Ryan Donato has started to “attract attention on the trade market.” The Blackhawks, who are rebuilding, may like to continue trading off components, and the 28-year-old is a prospective unrestricted free agent.

The Carolina Hurricanes, who also acquired Hall, acquired Colorado Avalanche star Mikko Rantanen from Chicago as part of a historic three-team transaction. The Blackhawks kept half of Rantanen’s contract in exchange for a third-round selection.

The Boston Bruins selected Donato in the second round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Donato ended his time in college early and signed a two-year entry-level deal with Boston after leading the Harvard Crimson with 26 goals and 17 assists during the 2017–18 season.

The Scituate native played with the Bruins for two seasons. He scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in 46 games overall, although he never completely settled into their attacking rhythm. Charlie Coyle moved to Boston in 2019 after Donato was dealt to the Minnesota Wild.

Donato has 14 goals and an equal number of assists in 47 games for the Blackhawks this season.
