Former Bruins Draft Pick Anders Bjork Signs PTO with Milwaukee Admirals
After starting the season as a free agent, Anders Bjork, a former Boston Bruins draft pick, has secured a new opportunity. On Sunday, the Milwaukee Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, announced they had signed Bjork to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
Bjork was selected by the Bruins in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. His early career included a stint on Boston’s top line alongside stars Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. A finalist for the Hobey Baker Award in 2017, Bjork faced challenges with injuries, undergoing left shoulder surgery in 2018 and right shoulder surgery in 2024.
In 2021, Bjork was part of the trade that brought Taylor Hall to Boston, which sent him to the Buffalo Sabres. He later joined the Chicago Blackhawks in 2023, where he played 13 games and recorded eight points in the second half of the 2022-23 season.
Bjork spent the 2023-24 season with the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL, tallying 27 points in 40 games. His signing with the Admirals marks another chapter in his professional journey.
The Admirals are set to begin a five-game road trip on Sunday, kicking off against Bjork’s former team, the Rockford IceHogs.
