One notable player is three-time All-Star guard Danielle Robinson, who played for the Fever during the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
On Wednesday, Robinson announced her retirement from the WNBA, concluding a memorable 14-season career. Despite her relatively short stint with the Fever, Robinson played a crucial role in setting the stage for the team’s current era. Although she left the team two years before Clark’s arrival in 2024, her influence continues to be felt. In response to her retirement, the Fever expressed their gratitude with a heartfelt message on social media: “Congratulations on a great career, Danielle Robinson. Wishing you all the best in retirement.”
Robinson was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft by the San Antonio Silver Stars. Throughout her career, she earned a reputation as a formidable defender, being named to the All-Defensive team three times and selected to the All-WNBA squad in 2014. In 2013, she led the league in assists, further showcasing her playmaking abilities.
During her tenure with the Fever, Robinson averaged 8.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.1 steals across 55 games. Her contributions helped solidify the foundation for the team’s future success, making her a significant figure in the Fever’s legacy.
