Alexander “AJ” Jennings, a stand-in and body double for actor Chase Stokes on the Netflix series Outer Banks, tragically died in a double hit-and-run accident. The incident occurred in Charleston, South Carolina, in the early hours of July 5, 2022. Jennings was struck by two vehicles while walking along Sol Legare Road; both drivers fled the scene. The second vehicle’s driver was later located but has not yet faced charges
Jennings had recently relocated from New York to Charleston for his role on the show. His death was confirmed by Kimmie Stewart Casting, which described him as a “bright light” on set. Chase Stokes paid tribute to Jennings on Instagram, expressing his heartbreak over the loss and recalling Jennings’ passion for music and kindness to others
