tackle Calais The Miami Dolphins are set to face the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday as the NFL’s regular season kicks off. As the game approaches, the Dolphins have released their first official injury report following Wednesday’s practice, and it’s notably lengthy, reminiscent of a lengthy CVS receipt.
A total of thirteen players were cited on the Dolphins’ injury report. Among them, four players are listed purely for “veteran rest” days: left tackle Terron Armstead (Did Not Participate), defensive tackle Calais Campbell (Did Not Participate), cornerback Kendall Fuller (Limited), and linebacker David Long (Limited).
Three additional players are on the list for “veteran rest” but also have other injuries. These include linebacker Jaelan Phillips (Did Not Participate) who is still recovering from offseason Achilles surgery, Jordan Poyer (Limited) who is dealing with a thumb injury, and linebacker Anthony Walker (Limited) who has a knee issue.
Other players listed with specific injuries include starting center Aaron Brewer, who was limited due to a hand laceration; linebacker Quinton Bell, who was limited with a thumb injury; defensive tackle Benito Jones, who was limited due to a knee issue; rookie wide receiver Malik Washington, who was limited with a quad injury; and safety Jevon Holland, who participated fully despite an ankle injury.
The most concerning entry on the report is star defensive back Jalen Ramsey, who did not participate in practice because of a hamstring injury. If Ramsey is unable to play on Sunday, Miami’s cornerback position will be significantly weakened, which could be a major disadvantage against the Jaguars.
In contrast to Miami’s extensive list, the Jacksonville Jaguars reported only one player on their injury list: backup safety Daniel Thomas, who was limited due to an Achilles injury. This disparity highlights the Dolphins’ current injury struggles as they prepare for their season opener.
The Dolphins’ injury report underscores the challenges the team faces as they head into the new season, with several key players either resting or dealing with injuries. The team’s depth and ability to adapt will be tested as they look to overcome these early hurdles and secure a strong start to their campaign.
