LeBron James Sets Strict Rule for Son Bronny as They Prepare to Play Together on the Lakers.
As the basketball world eagerly anticipates the historic moment when LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, will play together as teammates for the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron has revealed a unique rule for their time on the court.
The 39-year-old NBA legend, who has already made history throughout his illustrious career, is set to break new ground by playing alongside his 19-year-old son, Bronny. However, LeBron has made it clear that when they’re on the court, their father-son relationship will take a backseat to their roles as professional athletes.
In a recent episode of *The Shop*, LeBron disclosed that Bronny will not be allowed to call him “Dad” while they are on the court together. “No, he can’t; we already laid that down,” LeBron said. “Once we leave the practice facility, and the gates close, I could be ‘Dad’ again, in the car if we ride together. At home, I could be ‘Dad.’ No, he gotta call me ‘2-3’ or ‘Bron,’ or ‘GOAT’ if he wants to. It’s up to him.”
LeBron explained that the rule is designed to maintain a professional atmosphere during games and practices. “It’s easy for me because I’ve been calling him ‘Bronny’ for so long,” he continued. “It’s not like I’ve been, ‘Hey son, hey son.’ So it’s easy for me. It’s gonna be an adjustment for him. We cannot be running down the court, and he’d be like, ‘Dad, Push the ball up! Dad, I’m open! Dad, come on!'”
The Lakers’ first preseason game is set for October 4, and all eyes will be on the James duo as they make history together on the court. This father-son dynamic, combined with the pressures of NBA competition, will undoubtedly add a unique layer of intrigue to the upcoming season.
