Can Real Madrid Maintain Dominance With Mbappe?

Madrid is a team used to winning. It is part of our history and “our DNA and my job is to continue to motivate the players, so this history continues and will last forever” Florentino Pérez.

These words from Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Pérez

Represents the club’s winning mentality of always getting the job done. As Real Madrid gets ready for the new season, expectations are much higher than before as Los Blanco’s raised bars so high as a result of winning the La Liga and the Champions League in the previous season. This season there will be no difference. With the signing of a world class player like Kylian Mbappe the Los Blanco’s squad is strengthened and their sight of European glory is clear.

Mbappe is an icing on the cake bringing in more pace, skills and goals to the team. Mbappe partnering with the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrigo upfront will make Real Madrid’s attack one of the most feared in Europe. These players are versatile which allows them to play across the front line causing problem for the opposing defense.

Carlo Ancelotti is the best manager for this squad as I expect him to adopt a more dynamic tactical approach utilizing the skill and pace of these young and proven stars to create space and exploit opposition weaknesses. This will complemented by the experience of veteran Luka Modric, Strength and creativity of Federico Valverde,  Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga in the mild field with the solidity of Antonio Rüdiger and Éder Militão and Thibaut Courtois.

The Los Blancos expectations for the new season are clear: The Champions League, La Liga and every other domestic trophy. With their squad depth and quality of players, I believe they have everything it takes to achieve these ambitions. However, to achieve this feat won’t be easy with tough fixtures against Barcelona, Athletic Madrid and other top European clubs.

Despite these difficulties, I predict a very successful season for Real Madrid. Mbappe’s arrival has made the  team more eager and optimistic about winning. With strong squad depth and clear vision, I expect Real Madrid to dominate La Liga and make a very good long run in the Champions League. A minimum of two trophies this season is a more realistic expectation.

Real Madrid’s fans are anticipating a successful season and for good reasons too. The team has talent, depth and desire to achieve greatness. Let’s see if they can measure up to the hype.
