The Blues long chase for Napoli’s Star might be drawing to a positive end as Chelsea presents Romalu Lukaku in a swap offer.
The fate of the Nigerian International would be finally decided in the coming days between Napoli sports director, Giovanni Manna and Chelsea in West London as Napoli offers Victor Osimhen to Chelsea in a bid to finally land Romelu Lukaku in a part-exchange deal that would also include a fee of €45m (£38.64m)
The Italian highest goal scorer was previously linked to various top clubs as PSG, Arsenal and chelsea took the forefront. However Chelsea seems to be leading the chase currently after Napoli turned down their previous loan offer for the €130m worth striker. Having netted an impressive 76 goals in 133 matches for Napoli, it is easy to see why the 2023 Serie A champions are placing such a high demand on their Stella d’Italia.
Lukaku has been sailing on a loan ship away from his club for the past two years, moving from Inter to Roma. The 31-year-old still has two years left on his contract with Chelsea and
Romelu Lukaku revealed that Antonio Conte is the best manager he has had during his career. Conte helped the striker into perhaps the best physical shape of his career during the Belgian’s first stint at Inter Milan.
Conte, also a one time Chelsea manager led the team to a Premier League title in his first season in charge, then winning the FA Cup in his second season. Lukaku has made it clear that he cant wait to be reunited with his former coach, Conte.
Since winning the 2021 UEFA Champions League, Chelsea FC has struggled with inconsistent results and disappointing performances. Frequent change of managers, expensive transfers, and team issues have contributed to their difficulties, leading to seasons of instability and unbelievable league finishes.
This transfer deal might just be the glimmer of hope foe Chelsea who has failed to lift a trophy after winning the champions league in 2021.
