Hawaii’s Taylor Wily, known for his blunt-talking buddy roles in “Magnum P.I.” and “Hawaii Five-0,” passed away.
The 56-year-old’s most well-known character was Kamekona from the “Hawaii Five-0” reboot.
In addition, he starred in the films “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Magnum P.I.”
Wily was well-known for his charitable giving and for seeing kids at Shriner’s Hospital.
Wily’s friend Angela Keen stated, “He’s probably the most memorable person to walk in the door there from Hawaii Five-0 and the most loved just because of how personal he was with everyone.”
“He never met a stranger and had a heart of gold.”
The circumstances behind the actor’s death remain unknown, however his family has confirmed that he passed away on Wednesday night.
Wily was a UFC 1 fighter and sumo wrestler before he began acting. In 1993, Wily became the first knockout victim in UFC history when opponent Gerard Gordeau’s kick caused a tooth to fall out of Wily’s jaw, finishing the bout in just 26 seconds.
